Grants for cavity wall and loft insulation!
...and FREE home insulation for those on eligible
benefits or tax credits.
Whatever your income, grants of between 50% and 70% are available for loft or
cavity wall insulation. Grants are available to homeowners and private tenants.
These grants are available under the Warm Front scheme. Warm Front is the UK’s
largest grant-funded programme for tackling fuel poverty and is funded by the
Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Similar schemes are
available in Scotland and Wales.
Households where anyone is receiving one of the following benefits or tax
credits, or anyone is over the age of 70, should be eligible for a 100% grant:
- Income Support
- Housing Benefit
- Council Tax Benefit
- Disabled Persons Tax Credit
- War Disablement Pension (providing you’re also in receipt of Mobility Supplement
or Constant Attendance Allowance)
- Attendance Allowance
- Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (providing you’re also in receipt of
Constant Attendance Allowance)
- Child Tax Credit (Providing your annual income is less than £15,490)
- Working Tax Credit (Providing your annual income is less than £15,490)
- Disability Living Allowance
- Pension Credit
Not on a qualifying benefit?
If you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria for free insulation, then grants
from around 50% rising to 70% are available for loft and cavity wall insulation,
so you can still save massively. For example, on a 3-4 bedroomed detached house,
you can save up to around £500 for cavity wall insulation, or around 70%.
